This is an economics joke. Two rigourous free market economists from
the U of Chicago are walking down the street together. One sees a $100 dollar bill on the street and says to the other, “I see a $100 dollar bill on the street, should I pick it up?”
The other one says, “That’s impossible. If the markets are working
efficiently, someone should already have found that bill and picked it
up already. It can’t be there.”
So they leave the bill there and continue walking on.
